Gae Callaway was born and raised near Joplin, Missouri. She worked for seven years with Farmers Insurance, then State Farm, Sooner Life, and MetLife Insurance. At MetLife, she was both a manager and an agent. After leaving MetLife, Gae became an Independent broker and co-owner of an independent agency. During her career, she has been an agent, manager, teacher, presenter, speaker and has conducted workshops for clients and professional peers.
In 1996, when a friend died of cancer, Gae founded a non-profit organization called the Mystery of the Blue Rose with monthly workshops still being held. The goal is to help people be financially secure and help them enhance and promote the identification of, the pursuit of, and the achievement of their goals.
In 2006, she was named Ambassador of the Year for the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. In the same year, she was awarded the Women in Business Champion by the Small Business Administration.
In 2011, she was named the Home Based Business Champion by the Small Business Association of Corpus Christi, Texas.
